About Bulldogs Unleashed
Bulldogs Unleashed is a community-wide cultural arts exhibit brought together through a unique collaborative partnership between the Batavia Foundation for Educational Excellence, the Batavia Parks Foundation and the Batavia Public Library Foundation.
While Bulldogs Unleashed has many goals in mind, the most important is to promote “all things Batavia” through an encouraged sense of pride, spirit and loyalty. It is a celebration of the cultural liveliness and quality of life that all residents in Batavia have come to know and love. Local artists also benefit as the new exhibit will help celebrate their work.
The professionally painted 30” (tall) and 44” (tall) bulldog statues will be displayed throughout the community from June through September, 2011. The dogs will then be auctioned off later in the year at an event with all funds to be divided among the partnership’s three foundations.
About the Partnership
Bulldogs Unleashed brings together people from all areas of the community and in return, the organizations they service will benefit greatly through the money raised by the exhibit and auction.
The Batavia Foundation for Educational Excellence funds various programs to enhance the education of all Batavia Public school students. In addition, the Education Foundation will proudly assist BPS 101 and the community as they celebrate the school district’s 100-year anniversary in 2011. And as residents commemorate this event, they can also cherish the current growth and commitment within the school district.
Batavia parks are a vibrant backbone within the community, and the funds that will be raised through Bulldogs Unleashed also will help the Batavia Parks Foundation identify areas for future development and maintain existing facilities. These areas are used by all residents – young or old, human or canine – and are an important aspect of why Batavia is a great place to live and work.
No organization has helped explore more worlds than the Batavia Public Library Foundation. The Foundation provides a mainstream service to all residents by offering an enhanced collection every year. The money raised on its behalf also would allow for additional cultural and educational offerings, new technologies and staff additions and development. |
